12 | P a g e <br />RFQ #16-06-01 Shoreline Surveying & Mapping Consulting Services <br />APPROACH/METHODOLOGY <br /> <br />All survey services will be provided in accordance with the “Monitoring Standards for Beach Erosion <br />Control” as published by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Bureau and Coastal Systems <br />and to adhere to the FEMA Disaster Assistance Fact Sheet, DAP95808.8 in preforming surveys for funding <br />assistance. Land & Sea Surveying will provide analysis of our data and data collected by Miami-Dade County <br />both current and historic. We will also be available to present reports, attend meetings and participate in <br />strategy sessions as needed by the Miami-Dade County. <br /> <br />In supporting the City of Sunny Isles Beach ongoing beach management effort, Land & Sea surveying will <br />provide topographic and hydrographic surveying services. Land & Sea Surveying will survey profiles at an <br />interval as requested by the City’s engineers beginning from the top of dune and extend offshore to the <br />requested depth. Upland data will be collected using an RTK GPS and/or conventional total station as <br />determined by conditions at the time of survey. <br /> <br />Offshore data can be collected along the profile lines with a singlebeam hydrographic system at 200 kHz <br />frequency. Horizontal and vertical positioning will be acquired through RTK GPS. <br /> <br />Land & Sea Surveying can also complete offshore bathymetric surveys utilizing a multi-beam bathymetric <br />system. The multi-beam system provides 100% coverage for increased seafloor detail and highly accurate <br />volumetric computation database. The multibeam system operates at 200 or 400 kHz frequency and <br />incorporated an App <br /> <br />Upland data surveyed utilizing conventional and GPS surveying systems will overlap the offshore data taken <br />with bathymetric survey systems for quality control between methodologies. Survey data will be tied to a <br />reference datum using a minimum of two published monuments at each project site. <br /> <br />The Land & Sea Surveying team is qualified, skilled, and always meets the client’s needs in a timely manner <br />in both upland and underwater surveying services. As the licensed Professional Land Surveyor, Mr. <br />Carlile oversees all projects. He actively participates in every task from inception to final deliverable. Initial <br />task order assessment will be evaluated by team management for project execution and identify necessary <br />resources from the team. Mr. Carlile will review all projects and perform the final quality control on all task <br />orders prior to delivery. <br /> <br />Our team holds to the philosophy that the most important step in managing a successful project is <br />preparation. Proper preparation is the most effective measure to control cost and ensure an on-time <br />delivery. The project scope and site are fully researched to determine the best survey method and <br />approach to be utilized. Field crews are supplied with all the necessary equipment, with backups, scope of <br />services and/or checklist, and control information. The project and methods to be utilized are reviewed <br />with the Project Lead for a full understanding of the project and requirements. On all projects, we provide <br />regular progress reports to the client with time and costs for continuous monitoring. <br /> <br />Land & Sea Surveying has the capability to utilize several innovative techniques and procedures in delivering <br />the highest quality surveying and survey-related services to the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />
