His wide-ranging expertise includes FEMA <br />coastal floodplain mapping, shore protection structure design, <br />numerical modeling, feasibility studies, and dredging projects. He is <br />capable in multiple numerical modeling techniques and is well-versed <br />in the latest coastal design manuals such as the CEM and SPM. Mr. <br />Cheifet has extensive topographic and bathymetric survey experience <br />where he has utilized RTK GPS, total stations, and echo sounders for <br />topographic and beach profile surveys. His field experience includes <br />above and underwater inspections, GIS/GPS data collection, surveying, <br />and construction oversight. Mr. Cheifet also has extensive knowledge <br />of GIS applications to coastal engineering and has leveraged this <br />technology through desktop, server, and mobile platforms on multiple <br />projects including coastal flooding, wetland restoration, dredging, and <br />offshore wind farm siting. Mr. Cheifet completes most of his design <br />and construction work using a variety of coastal and civil design <br />software that includes MIKE21-SW, MIKE21-FM, STWAVE, CHAMP, <br />ACES, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and HYPACK. <br /> <br />Representative project experience <br />1000 S. Ocean Blvd Post-Tropical Storm Sandy Damage Investigation, <br />Palm Beach County, Florida <br />CLIENT: LXR Luxury Resorts <br />Coastal Systems provided environmental/permitting and coastal <br />engineering consulting services to a private client to assess storm <br />damage from Tropical Storm Sandy. The site inspection included an <br />above-water inspection of the seawall, upland washout damage, <br />dune/beach erosion, and access roadway damage sustained from the <br />storm waves. Environmental permitting recommendations and <br />guidance was provided in accordance with the emergency declaration <br />and other existing Florida DEP regulations. <br /> <br />Hillsboro/Deerfield Beach Restoration, Broward County, Florida <br />CLIENT: Town of Hillsboro Beach <br />Environmental permitting, coastal engineering, funding application, <br />and biological monitoring services for 375,000 cubic yard beach fill <br />project and previous interim nourishment truck haul project. <br /> <br />
