The Survey Manager will track weather and tide conditions and plan the field survey effort based on optimum conditions for the scheduled task. The Survey Manager will also coordinate with City staff to inform them of survey schedule and location of data collection, and also discuss beach access issues, as pertinent to the data collection effort. During the course of data collection, QA/QC procedures including equipment calibration checks and other SDI established data collection protocol will be monitored by the Survey Manager to ensure accuracy and quality of data. All data is uploaded daily to SDI servers, either directly or via electronic data transfer methods for prompt review by the Survey Manager or other technicians assigned to the project. It is a strict and mandatory policy that all collected data is thoroughly reviewed for accuracy prior to crew demobilization. After completion of data collection and prior to the commencement of data processing, the Project Manager will again review with the computer / CADD technicians the specifications for charts, electronic data formatting and other deliverables associated with the project. The development of final deliverables follows a very strict protocol for QA/QC. Draft deliverables are first produced and reviewed by no less than two (2) qualified technicians to check quality and accuracy of data, chart completeness and overall conformance with project specifications. For coastal monitoring surveys where historical data is available, comparative profile plots are produced and carefully analyzed for consistency, specifically looking for anomalies in data and quality of offshore and upland closure. After this initial review of data, charts and other deliverables, computer / CADD technicians proceed to prepare final deliverables, which undergo a second QA/QC process, which again involves no less than two (2) technicians including the Project Manager and Professional Surveyor and Mapper in responsible charge of the project. After thorough review of the final deliverables, final charts and/or Survey Report will be certified by a Professional Surveyor and Mapper.
