PROJECT EXPERIENCE
55"' st Beach Mitigation and Surveys, North Miami Beach Florida
lin Hydrographic was contracted to oversee a beach
remediation project to remove a layer of upland sand
which was found to be contaminated with construction
debris including glass and nails. OHS engineers built a
portable shaker table using a concrete vibrator and
utilized a mini excavator to perform test pits on a grid
covering the fill area to quantify the scope of the problem.
Each test sample was screened and the quantity and type
of construction debris
observed was logged. OHS
performed pre and post
sand removal surveys and
sand volume calculations
and submitted drawings to
the DEP with a proposed
cleanup mitigation plan.
OHS performed real time
stakeout and construction
supervision for the
mitigation contractor and as half the sand was removed and
replaced with new fill and half was sifted in place. OHS performed
quality control excavations to verify and document that the debris
was no longer present on the beach,.
Z Atlantic Ocean
I k
mom
d I
• r +
r ! r S r ,. i S i a , r r{• r r i i r-
1 F
I I
I i
I
---- R48 Q
1
1
II fK9dn Ct lAtl JMC 110. 1
I
I I
R47 C I'
``'`www.OlinH dro ra hic.com
' Y g p
0- Consulting Engineering, Environmental, and Mapping Services
y rograIX-
Solutions, Inc.
