<br />Jerry has over 29 years of experience in the environmental consulting, regulatory, and restoration fields in Florida. He brings his
<br />many years of government regulatory experience to the firm, with nearly 10 years of service with Palm Beach County Department
<br />of Environmental Resources Management (ERM). He has the ability to negotiate difficult environmental issues between the
<br />private and public sectors, making his experience unique. Jerry has provided expert witness testimony in several instances. He
<br />specializes in wetland studies, jurisdictional determinations, Environmental Resource Permitting, mitigation plans, tree inventories,
<br />listed species surveys, submerged resource surveys, and dock permitting.

<br />Environmentalist. This site was developed by PBC Water Utilities as the very first created wetland in the County. The site was
<br />originally 56 acres of percolation ponds from the main water treatment facility in the county. Land Design South was involved
<br />from the inception, creating the Master Plan of the existing plant operations, future land use, the proposed site plan and
<br />interpretive signage. The complexity of the project required public charettes to incorporate community opinion. The project
<br />received the distinguished Environmental Sustainability Honor Award in 2009.

<br />Plan studies, developing research for funding and budget issues, as well as conducting workshops with regional specialists in
<br />environmental permitting for the development of this facility in a pristine environment. Land Design Services produced all
<br />construction documentation for the boardwalk system, signage, parking, and helicopter pad.

<br />Environmental Professional. As part of a continuing contract with St. Lucie County, Rick has prepared multiple Phase I and II
<br />Environmental Site Assessments during the County’s due diligence period for land acquisitions. Rick was responsible for
<br />carrying out the research and investigation of the properties to identify any recognized environmental conditions (REC’s) that
<br />may indicate the presence or threat of soil and groundwater contamination. Rick also assisted in performing and preparing the
<br />Phase II site investigation on the Roberts Preserve property investigating the presence of chlorinated pesticides and petroleum
<br />products in the soil of a farm located along the North Fork of the St. Lucie River.

<br />Environmental Professional. The goal of the design was to create a demonstration garden utilizing one hundred percent native
<br />plant materials which will be used to educate the center’s users of the various methods in which native plant material can be
<br />successfully incorporated into a residential landscape setting. In correlation with the use of native plant materials, special
<br />attention was given to utilizing plant materials with low water needs that would support a variety of native wildlife species.
<br />Through the use of these design strategies a garden was created that not only compliments the culture of sustainability existing
<br />throughout the center but also serves as an educational resource to the surrounding community.
