CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH 2007 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
EV ALUATION AND APPRAISAL REPORT (EAR)-BASED AMENDMENTS
Comment 6. Definition of Water

DCA and the SFWMD recommend that the new interpretive text for the "Water" Future Land Use District be
amended to reference SFWMD permit criteria and State criteria: for the use of submerged sovereign lands. The
proposed amendment to Policy 5B. of the Future Land Use Element (Application No.1, Amendment 33, P. 9)
has been revised in accordance with the 'recommendation. In addition, new interpretive text for the
"Community Facilities" District is being added. This designation identifies the location of existing Community
Facilities, and the interpretive text reflects the density and intensity standards prescribed in the Land
Development Regulations. No changes to the Map itself are proposed to implement the "Water" or
"Community Facilities" designations, as they are already identified on the adopted Map. The proposed
amendments are intended to correct the omission of interpretive text for these districts in the adopted
Comprehensive Plan.

5
