<br />The School District of Lee County, Florida - RFP # 6211 <br />Document Imaging System <br /> <br />August 5, 2004 <br /> <br />Client workstations supported are Windows 2000, NT workstation, XP Professional, and Windows 98 <br />When using the NT server or Windows 2000, all clients must use TCP/IP. LaserFlche scanning and <br />process workstations use the Windows 2000, NT 4.0 workstation, and XP Professional operating systems. <br /> <br />When using LaserFiche Webllnk or Web Access for InterneUlntranet access a web server with Internet <br />Information Server 5.x is required When allowing Internet access, the web server should be outside the <br />network firewall Standard Internet 'Browser' software can be used to access LaserFiche through any <br />Internet access. This can be a secure and/or open login to particular data sets (documents, folders and <br />sUbfolders) Weblink and Web Access are written in ASP, or Active Server Pages, and are completely <br />customlzable Style sheets' are provided <br /> <br />DIMS IT personnel can be trained In LaserFiche system support, administration, and established work <br />processes in 1 to 3 days After the system has been established, one person With a backup can support <br />and manage the LaserFiche DIMS. System support, administration, and management require only <br />several hours per month The network person responsible for server and systems administration must be <br />available during initial installation (first and second day). When Installing and configuring the LaserFiche <br />DIMS application the process requires an 'administrative' logm to the server and workstations <br /> <br />Scanner system users must have Read/Wnte access to particular directories on the scan workstation <br />This allows the process to write Images temporally to the workstation before sending the data to the <br />server. <br /> <br />The system network should be at least 10BaseT The communication protocol between the DIMS server <br />and client workstations is TCP/IP The LaserFiche DIMS application advertises over the TCPIIP network <br />Users are not required to be 'mapped' to DIMS system or data drives <br /> <br />R&S recommends three levels of data storage and management Level 1 - The DIMS image data should <br />be managed on standard Windows 2000 servers with RAID 5 disk arrays for data storage. Level 2 - <br />Standard tape backup should used to protect the entire database, application, and all records files. <br />Backup routine should be 'Full', and include at least a five day rotation for the tapes Level 3 - LaserFiche <br />data volumes should be written to CD-R or DVD-R optical disc (for disaster recovery and data <br />distribution) <br /> <br />Software Versions: The current version of LaserFiche DIMS is 6 1 VerSion 6 has been available since <br />01 2002. The next full release (7.0) Will be available in 04 2004. LaserFlche system administrators are <br />still required to apply user and group security to LaserFlche objects (documents. folders and sUbfolders). <br /> <br />R&S Integrated Products and Services.
