BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) Fees: $6,374,712 Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne struck Palm Beach County within weeks of each other during September 2004, causing extensive property damage, The county's Solid Waste Authority quickly enlisted Malcolm Pirnie to manage the debris recovery process. By the second day after storm we had established four temporary debris monitoring sites and within ten days ten debris sites were open. In the weeks that followed we managed a team of more than a hundred workers, including subconsultants, to monitor debris removal and establish and monitor debris management sites, Altogether we monitored the removal and management of 3_5 million cubic yards of debris. We also provided assistance with applications to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for reimbursement of cleanup costs, Project activities for this debris management effort included, but were not limited to, the following: b.
