These improvements to the right-of-way 'outside' the curbs can serve a multitude of purposes - enhance the pedestrian realm including bringing the area up to current ADA standards; allow for, encourage and plan for redevelopment of property along the corridor and more importantly, help create an identity for the City of Sunny Isles along its most important corridor. Streetscape projects such as Collins Avenue require a team with experience dealing with the detailed design issues that will need to be confronted in the corridor, as well as experience in dealing with access issues that are inherent to projects within an established retail environment. The EDAW / APCTE team has the experience and technical expertise that will be required to meet the above stated goals and make this project a success for the whole of the City of Sunny Isles. SCOPE OF SERVICES Collins Avenue Streetscape To provide professional urban design and engineering services to design a streetscape for the west side of Collins Avenue that runs the entire length of the City. The following is our proposed approach: Project Management . Coordinate the project with the City of Sunny Isles Beach, FDOT District VI, utility companies, adjacent landowners and other affected organizations during the development of the design. . Perform general administration duties, including coordination with sub-consultants; preparation of invoices; scheduling; record keeping; and file management. . Attend and participate in meetings with the above mentioned organizations. . Oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) program. Each scheduled submittal of plans to the Client and/or FDOT shall receive QA/QC. . All work shall be performed in accordance with the City's Standards and Procedures for plans and specifications. . All work shall be performed in English units using either AutoCad format. Public Involvement EDAW shall conduct two (2) public meetings to review the design development stage of the project. EDAW shall provide displays to convey design alternatives, schedules, and costs. EDAW shall conduct up to eight (8) working group meetings with the Client staff or project managers including meetings outlined within scope below. Verification of Existing Conditions EDAW to provide a detailed topographic survey of the project area that conform to FDOT standards as well as geotechnical explorations and utility locations as identified.
