BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br /> <br />This project consists of milling and resurfacing and rehabilitating 13.3 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway, overlooks, parking areas, developed <br />areas, spurs and access roads from MP 247.9 to MP 261.2. There are 3 parking and <br />overlook areas. The project included pavement removal, pavement patching, asphalt <br />paving, shoulder stabilization, stone curb removal and replacement, concrete curb <br />removal, drainage work, guardrail replacement, minor bridge repair and miscellaneous <br />work. Drainage work consists of inspection and evaluation culverts, inlets and ditches <br />fro the need for cleaning, reconditioning and replacement. <br /> <br />Professional services included roadway, bridge and drainage design, field surveys, <br />geotechnical investigations, traffic counts, safety report, Special Contract Requirements, <br />Engineer's Estimate, unit prove analysis, CPM construction schedule, design narrative <br />and highway design standard form. <br /> <br />.
