BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope. size. and cost) <br /> <br />This project represents the relevant experience of Landscape Architect Carolyn Mitchell while with a previous firm, Wallace. <br />Roberts and Todd. Ms. Mitchell served as Landscape Architect for the streetscape design development and construction <br />documentation_ <br /> <br />Flagler Street is one of Miami's oldest streets. Renovation plans for the street focused on making the most of a challenging set of <br />conditions including requirements for maintenance of traffic and maintenance of business, limited budget and utilities conflicts. The $10M <br />plan allowed the City to extend its scope of work beyond decorative improvements at intersections, as indicated in its adopted master <br />plan, to include resurfacing sidewalks on the Central Business District's main street, which had fallen into dangerous condition. <br />replacement of roadway lighting with pedestrian lighting, replacement of unhealthy and hazardous trees with large drought tolerant trees <br />and identification of utility upgrade and drainage issues requiring attention. Detailed field verification and work with engineers was <br />required to ensure constructability. The project was completed in 2006.
