Projected completion on 2008 19c(31 RELEVANT PROJECT - BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE: The Bird Road Starbucks Shopping Center is a single story structure with two buildings for a total area of 10,247.71 square feet of retail space and a total site area of 31,300 square feet. This includes parking for 61 spaces, with access to Bird Road and 83'd Avenue. This shopping center will house national franchise such as Starbucks Coffee, Mattress Firm and Quiznos. This building structure will consists of masonry walls, steel joist and light weight concrete roof structure, with steel columns and frames for the impact glass store front windows system. The building required to be completely reconstructed to meet all the requirements of the Florida Building Code. The building characteristics were to be maintained in order to comply with the historical preservation requirements set forth by the City. The program requirement was to house the corporate offices of a venture capital group with specific functions for all office spaces. The building was to be redesign for accessibility and required a new elevator. The owner required the building to be a smart building with the latest communications technologies available. The project ran into extensive time delays and cost overruns due to unforeseen conditions. Project size of 8450 SF. The cost of the Project is $2,306,800.
