BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size and cost) <br /> <br />Wolfberg Alvarez and Partners served as the Architect and Engineer of Record for the redevelopment of a 700,000 <br />SF "urban destination" retail complex. These improvements were coordinated with the City of South Miami and its <br />Hometown Plan. The new complex utilizes a pedestrian oriented "Main Street" concept which converted The Shops <br />at Sunset Place into a focal point for the entire Central Business District. The Shops at Sunset Place is an upscale, <br />exterior, multi-level, open-air shopping center which has been designed as a collection of independent buildings <br />around internal streets and plazas, with a cohesive architectural theme uniting the various components. Building <br />heights vary from 37' (two stories) on South Dixie Highway to 62' (four stories) along Red Road which house ap- <br />proximately 516,312 SF of leasable space for retail, entertainment and restaurants and 34,275 SF for residential <br />units. The incorporation of arcades, landscaped walks and plazas created an attractive, safe environment for both <br />tourists and locals. The expansion also included an addition to the existing parking garage to creating a 580,000 <br />SF, eight-level structure for a total of 1,700 parking spaces. Tenants for The Shops at Sunset Place include <br />Virgin Megastore, Nike Town, GameWorks, Barnes & Noble Bookstore, FAO Schwartz, Z Gallerie, AMC 24 Movie <br />Theaters and an IMAX 3-D Movie Theater. Wolfberg Alvarez and Partners is the Local ArchitecUEngineer of Re- <br />cord for several of the tenant spaces which have been designed by Design Architects elsewhere. <br /> <br />.
