Geotechnical exploration and engineering analysis for Automatic People Mover Station <br />at Miami International Airport Multi-Modal Center, a multi-faceted transportation project that includes 2 buildings, <br />the rental car facility, a people mover, the MIC core building, and all new at-grade roadways, elevated highways, <br />bridges, and retaining walls. Responsible for performing engineering analysis and preparing geotechnical reports for <br />a multi-faceted transportation project that includes two buildings, the rental car facility, a people mover, the MIC <br />core building, and all associated new at-grade roadways, elevated highways, bridges, and retaining walls. <br />Engineering analysis included axial and lateral capacity of drilled shafts and driven piles. Responsible for <br />coordinating drilling activities, laboratory testing, and invoicing. Fees: $72,000. Estimated Completion: 12/30/2006. <br /> <br />Project Engineer / Site Manager: Florida Department of Transportation / Metric Engineering, Inc. Interstate 395 <br />PD&E Study Geotechnical Services, Miami (Area), Florida. Geotechnical services for PD&E study performed for 1- <br />mile section of Interstate 395 between intersection with Interstate 95 and west end of MacArthur Causeway Bridge. <br />The planned improvements will include two options: high level, elevated roadway and a tunnel option. Geotechnical <br />services included drilling, rock coring, drainage field testing, lab testing, and evaluation of foundations. Responsible <br />for performing engineering analysis and preparing geotechnical reports; involved axial capacity of drilled shafts and <br />driven piles, soil and rock parameter recommendations for lateral analyses of deep foundations, slope stability <br />analysis for MSE walls, and settlement analyses; coordinated drilling activities, laboratory testing, and invoicing. <br />Fees: $149,070. Central Station, <br />Miami Intermodal Center Geotechnical Services, Miami, Florida. Geotechnical consultation for construction of <br />Central Station of Miami Intermodal Center (MIC), the new station where municipal transportation systems (car, <br />rail) converge to facilitate transfer of riders from one system or line to another. Consists of a pedestrian bridge, <br />Metrobusplaza, tri-rail and interstate rail platforms, intercity bus facility, taxi and private vehicle drop-off / pick-up <br />areas, vehicle parking area and pedestrian esplanade. Pedestrian bridge provides a link for the MIC Rental Car <br />Facility, the APM Station, ground transportation gateway, and the Metrorail connector. Responsible for performing <br />engineering analysis and preparing geotechnical reports for a multi-faceted transportation project that includes a <br />pedestrian bridge, Metrobusplaza, tri-rail and interstate rail platforms, intercity bus facility, taxi and private <br />vehicle drop.off I pick-up areas, vehicle parking area and pedestrian esplanade. Geotechnical services included <br />subsurface exploration, rock coring, laboratory testing and foundation evaluation. Engineering analysis included <br />axial and lateral capacity of augercast piles and non-redundant drilled shafts. Responsible for coordinating drilling <br />activities, laboratory testing, and invoicing. Fees: $125,000. Estimated Completion: 6/14/2007. <br /> <br />Senior Engineer: Florida Department of Transportation 5th Street Bridge Replacement Geotechnical Consulting <br />Services, Miami, Florida. Geotechnical exploration for new replacement 4-1ane bascule bridge over Miami River, <br />including the approach roadways and bulkheads. Responsible for performing engineering analysis and preparing <br />geotechnical reports. Engineering analysis included axial and lateral capacity of drilled shafts and driven piles, <br />slope stability analysis for MSE walls, and settlement analyses. Evaluated a mat foundation alternative for the <br />proposed bridge replacement. Responsible for coordinating drilling activities, laboratory testing, and invoicing. <br />Fees: $120,000.
