Discussion/Presentation of the Bella Vista Bay Park Improvements.

Action: Public Works Director Gio Batista gave a power-point presentation on the Park
which is the property we purchased with a grant at 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard, and that grant
requires that we produce some amenities on that site that may include benches, a pavilion,
and a kayak drop. The Park's primary function is to provide residents and visitors with
access to the Intracoastal Waterway.

City Manager Conner said the way the Park is laid out it is so easily expandable to the east,
we didn't think to originally ask the consultant in his basic layout of the Park to consider this
but he did, and when we saw it we all realized what an amenity it would be regardless of
whether or not you want to ultimately acquire more property in that area to the east. We have
had real interest from several people to provide services such as the kayaking rentals. We
will have a nice facility and amenities that have not been available to the local residents
before. Commissioner Scholl said to also keep in mind, stand-up paddle boards in addition
to kayaks.

Public Speakers: none

15
