The twin 4 span 172 ft. long AASHTO Type II girder/slab bridges were widened by 18ft. Doug servces as the Engineer of Record. Doug performed the deck, girder and intermediate hammerhead pier designs. Estimated construction cost for bridge widening is approximately $800,000. (1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) (2) YEAR COMPLETED 45th Street Bridge over FL Turnpike PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If Palm Beach County, FL Applicable) March 2007 b (3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE [gI Check if project performed with current firm Bridge replacement project consisting of replacing the existing bridge with a 62,000 sf, 486 ft. long, 4-span Florida Bulb T-72 girder/slab superstructure w/spans of 126 ft. to 134 ft. The bridge alignment is on a slight curve and the piers are skewed 40 degrees. Doug was part of the design team and performed the prestressed bridge analysis, slab design and multi column pier design founded on 18" square piles. Estimated construction cost of bridge is approximately $7.7 million. Doug was responsible for design and final construction document preparation. Doug worked closely with the FOOT Materials dept. in development of repair plans to include the use of CFRP laminates to strenghten prestressed girders with prestressed tendon damage. $220,000 Construction cost.
