BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT <br />SRS has performed as a Master Consultant for this <br />FEMAlDORM program since November of 2001. <br />The FEMAlDORM project is a jointly funded effort <br />supported by the Federal Government, State of <br />Florida, and Miami-Dade County intended to mitigate <br />problems that arose as a result of Hurricane Irene <br />(October 1999) and the "No Name Storm" (October <br />2000). As a Master Consultant we are responsible <br />for the coordination of approximately twelve (12) <br />engineering design consultants, eight (8) <br />geotechnical firms and nine (9) land surveying firms <br />involved in the design of approximately four hundred <br />ninety (490) mitigation projects. These projects <br />range from drainage improvements to total roadway <br />reconstruction, canal dredging, culvert cleaning, and <br />canal bank restoration. Additionally, we oversee the <br />construction efforts of nine (9) contractors <br />performing work with an estimated construction <br />value of $35,000,000.00. Finally we are responsible <br />for all document control related to these projects, <br />approval of payment for design, survey, geotechnical <br />reports, and construction in accordance with FEMA <br />required guidelines. <br /> <br /> <br />25.
