BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size. and cost) <br /> <br />Kimley-Horn has served the Town of Miami Lakes as its Town Engineer since 2007. <br />Miami Lakes has contracted with our firm to provide all aspects of engineering <br />associated with the Town, including providing staff to fill the positions of Public <br />Works Director and Stormwater Utility Director. With Miami Lakes' recent <br />incorporation, they needed to assess the infrastructure within the Town limits. <br />Kimley-Horn provided Miami Lakes with an assessment of the conditions of the <br />roads, sidewalks, signing, and striping <br />within the Town limits. The <br />recommendations from this assessment <br />included a prioritization of the <br />improvements along with a five-year <br />capital improvements program. To <br />facilitate implementing these <br />improvements, we provided <br />construction documents and obtained <br />bids from contractors to implement the <br />projects. Other achievements include <br />obtaining a grant from the Metropolitan <br />Planning Organization to prepare a <br />Transportation Master Plan. <br /> <br />Specific projects have included: <br /> <br />NW 8ih Avenue Design - roadway design, landscaping plans, and construction <br />documents (completed 2006) <br />Miami Lakeway North - roadway and drainage improvements (completed 2004) <br />Lake Elizabeth Drainage Improvements - roadway restoration/resurfacing and <br />drainage improvements (ongoing) <br />NW 1541h Street Drainage Improvements - roadway restoration/resurfacing and drainage improvements (completed 2006) <br />Stormwater Master Plan and Stormwater Utility Report (completed 2006) <br />Stormwater Master Plan Update (completed 2006) <br />Loch Ness Roadway and Drainage Improvements - roadway retention/resurfacing and drainage improvements (completed <br />2008 ) <br /> <br />This contract is ongoing; firm fee varies per work order - annual fee: $130,000. <br /> <br />25.
