BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope. size, and cost) <br /> <br />The Village at Gulfstream Park is a 60-acre mixed-use <br />development of regional impact (DRI) that will be built <br />adjacent to the existing Gulfstream Park horseracing <br />facility in Hallandale Beach, Florida. This <br />redevelopment project will replace an area previously <br />used only as a vast surface parking facility with a large- <br />scale mixed-use development of 750,000 square feet of <br />shops and restaurants, 140,000 square feet of office <br />use, a 2,500-seat movie theater, 500 hotel rooms, and <br />1,500 condominium units. Kimley-Horn provided site <br />civil engineering, traffic engineering and planning <br />services for this project. Some of the planning services <br />provided by Kimley-Horn include preparing <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment applications and <br />analyses, zoning language to establish a new zoning <br />category, and design guidelines to establish the <br />building and planning parameters for the site. <br /> <br />Kimley-Horn's traffic engineers prepared local and <br />regional traffic impact analyses to address traffic <br />impacts from the project and also developed a unique <br />set of mitigation measures that included broad-based, <br />multimodal solutions involving transit, Intelligent <br />transportation systems and transportation demand <br />management solutions.
