The proposed widening will include reversible lanes in the median serving express traffic between 1-75 and 1-95 with direct connections to Florida's Turnpike. The design was to reduce accident frequency at the intersection based on the safety report. The safety recommendations included reducing the median width, border width and travel lanes to offset the left-turn bays to improve the alignment and visibility on all approaches and reduce the number of crashes.
