Mr. Shafie was lead structural engineer on this project for Palm Beach <br />County. The project consisted ofa S7.5 million facility with a 30,000-sffloor <br />plan. The building utilized exterior load bearing tilt-up concrete panels and an <br />interior steel-column grid. The floor was framed with a steel-composite floor <br />system, and the roof consists of steel bar joists. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />New Airport Terminal, Winter Haven Municipal Airport (GIF), Winter <br />Haven, Florida. Mr. Shafie was lead structural engineer for the new 13,000-sf <br />tenninal for GIF. The project cost for the building and the site was S2.5 million. <br />The project consisted of exterior load bearing masonry walls, an interior steel- <br />column grid, and a prefabricated wood-truss framed roof. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Snow Removal Equipment Storage Facility, Pittsburgh International <br />Airport (PIT), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Shafie was the quality control <br />structural engineer for this project. This one-story, 50,000-sf facility was <br />designed as a steel-framed structure with a steel bar joists roof. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A TCT and Base Building, Wittman Field Airport (OS H), Oshkosh, <br />Wisconsin. Mr. Shafie was the structural project manager/quality control <br />structural engineer for the project. This l30-foot, 12,333-sf tower had a budget <br />of S6 million. The tower was designed with precast concrete walls for the shaft <br />and a steel-framed cab. The base building was designed with load-bearing <br />masonry exterior walls and precast hollow-core panels for the roof. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Relocate/Expand Security Checkpoint, Sarasota-Braden ton International <br />Airport (SRQ), Sarasota, Florida. Mr. Shafie was lead structural engineer for <br />this one-story elevated facility that was designed to match the existing <br />construction of the tenninal. The building is supported on a pile foundation, and <br />the floor and roof were designed using a concrete pan joist system. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Facility, MacDiII Air Force Base <br />(AFB), Tampa, Florida. Mr. Shafie was lead structural engineer for this one- <br />story, l8,000-sf renovation that had a project cost of S21 0,000. This project <br />involved the renovation of the existing I 940s and 1970s portions of the building. <br />The rooffor the I 940s part of the building was replaced, and the existing <br />masonry walls were reinforced to meet 000 blast requirements. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Aircraft Shelter, Indiana ANG, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Shafie was the <br />lead structural engineer for this two-bay facility. It was designed to shelter two <br />aircrafts. The hanger portion of the building was designed as a premanufactured <br />metal building. The mechanical rooms were designed with load-bearing exterior <br />walls and a steel bar joist roof. The design also considered the expansion of two <br />future bays to the facility. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ARFF Facility and Security Guardhouse, LMMIA, Carolina, Puerto Rico. <br />Mr. Shafie was lead structural engineer for this 19,000-sf, one-story facility that <br />had a total project cost of $3.8 million. The five-truck bay facility consists of <br />cast-in-place exterior load-bearing walls, and the roof was designed utilizing <br />long-span steel bar joists. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Tampa Bay Sunguide Center, FDOT District Seven, Tampa, Florida. Mr. <br />Shafie was lead structural engineer for this two-story, 21 ,OOO-sf facility. The <br />facility consists of masonry exterior walls with interior steel columns.
