Mobile District to design a new 82,478-square-foot fitness center. Featuring
alternative sources of energy and "green-build" design principles, the fitness
center will be designed to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) "silver" rating, with a goal of "gold" if additional funding
becomes available. PBS&J led an initial three-day scoping charrette and is
currently developing the design and construction documents. The charrette was
conducted to determine the feasibility of constructing a new fitness center. Final
products of the scoping charrette included a program document, site layout plan,
designlconstruction schedule, and budget.
