The RTI also includes a multi-purpose
training room and a dining hall with full kitchen for three-meals-per-day service.
The billets facility consists of 200 single-occupancy rooms, a common lounge,
and washers and dryers on each floor. This project will adhere to Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) guidelines and compliance.

Design-Build (D-B) of Special Operations Forces (SOF) Maintenance and
Storage Facility, Hurlburt Field, Florida (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
IUSACE), Mobile District). Designer responsible for foundation design and
drafting. PBS&J, teamed with J2 Engineering, Inc., is supporting a D-B project
for the USACE, Mobile District to provide a $4 million pre-engineered metal
structure that will serve as a maintenance and storage facility for SOF operating
out of Hurlburt Field, located at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) in Florida. To date,
PBS&J has provided full architectural and building engineering services,
including a value engineering study prior to the start of design. This work has
included evaluating bridge documents, developing design and construction
documents, and preparing a 50 percent submittal. Design work has incorporated
site improvements (such as water detention facilities), extension of site utilities
(e.g., water, sewer), and new aircraft apron/parking areas. PBS&J's work has
also prompted the reassessment of existing storm water and environmental
permits for Hurlburt Field, as well as consideration of potential impacts from
other adjacent projects. By building on the work completed during the bid
package phase, PBS&J was able to deliver the 50 percent design documents
under a fast-track schedule of just two weeks from receipt of the notice to
proceed (NTP)-a six-week reduction to the typical time required for a project
of this complexity. PBS&J also used innovative solutions to overcome
challenges during design. For example, by locating the structure behind another
base building-thereby blocking the public's view of the structure from the
roadway in front-metal building construction was approved, and PBS&J's
designs were freed from having to reflect all base design standards (such as the
use of split-face block), which helped expedite project completion.

Publix Super Markets Architectural and Engineering Services Master
Contract, Florida - Statewide (Publix Super Markets, Inc.). Designer
responsible for structural calculations to verify existing structure for additional
loads resulting from renovation work. Ms. Rubiera worked on Publix stores
#0024, #0210, #0369, #0487, #0571, and #0050. This master contract with
Publix Super Markets consists of architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural,
and civil engineering services including design, construction documentation, and
shop drawing reviews for the renovations of existing Publix stores. Project costs
have ranged from $ I ,500,000 to S2,000,000 for renovations to approximately 15
existing Publix stores annually. The work is especially challenging because
renovation design and all construction work must be done after the stores close
at night, typically after II p.m.

Wall of Wind Testing Center, Miami, Florida (Florida International
University). Designer responsible for structural modeling of building frame to
verify existing structure. Work scope involved sound and debris barrier wall
design for the Wall of Wind testing center.

Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) Fare Collection, Miami, Florida (Cubic
Transportation Systems, Inc.). Designer responsible for structural analysis,

PBSI.
