<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />",-,.,." <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />~"~Y/~ <br />~ <br /> <br />PIO(essionar General Engineeling Consultant <br />RFQ No. 0"l-QUJ,1 <br /> <br />Technical Capabilities - Sustainable Design <br /> <br />Sanitary Sewer: MEI provided Program Management Services for the Infiltration- <br />Exfiltration-Inflow (I/E/I) Program for the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department <br />(WASD), which covered the entire unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County. <br /> <br />This program applied advanced technology to the improvement of the existing sanitary <br />sewage collection network, which consisted of pre and post-TV inspections to verify the <br />effectiveness of the procedure, as well as quantification of the work. This program was <br />realized within an EPA mandate and was under their strict scrutiny and monitoring. <br /> <br />MEI has also worked with Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) performing <br />design, construction contract documents preparation, permits processing, coordination with <br />regulatory agencies, cost control and construction services for various existing municipal <br />pump stations ranging from 200 GPM to 450 GPM, to comply with NAPOT criteria. <br /> <br />In addition to the previously described experience, MEI was responsible for the evaluation <br />and rehabilitation of the wastewater infrastructure of a low-income housing project <br />containing 47 buildings. MEl's responsibilities included point reconstruction, repairs, pipe <br />liners, line replacement or clean test and seal for manhole repairs, sewer main lines and <br />sewer laterals. <br /> <br />Water: MEI has designed water distribution and transmission mains ranging from 6" to 36" <br />in diameter, to be connected or dedicated to municipal systems. We are also experienced <br />in network hydraulic analysis and performance evaluation and recommendations toward <br />system betterments to comply with fire protection requirements, and consumption <br />demands. <br /> <br />The MEI team has been responsible in the past for the evaluation of municipal systems to <br />assess no only the condition of the existing distribution system but to recommend the <br />upgrading and set up its construction schedule. <br /> <br />Drainage: MEI is familiar with the regional water management practices, promotion of <br />storm water quality protection, floodplain preservation and hazard mitigation, as well as <br />with the Rules of South Florida Water Management District Chapter 40E-1, 40E-4, 40E-40 <br />and other related chapters that govern the conceptual, individual and general permits. <br /> <br />The key elements used by MEI when studying a sound storm water management system <br />are environmental protection, mitigation and enhancement, water supply, flood and water <br />quality protection. This is accomplished through the combined efforts of planning and <br />research. <br /> <br />MEI has been under contract with the Miami-Dade County Public Works Department and <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach to implement Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />(FEMA) related projects that encompass the Roadway Improvement and Storm Water <br />System Design. This program was to alleviate and remedy the severe flood conditions <br />caused by the hurricane Irene and No-name storms in the year 2000. <br /> <br />~~~~a!t, <br />
