Program included five bridges with retaining walls and a 2,500-foot bulkhead along the north side of the C-51 Canal. Cost: $120 million. Services included 60 percent roadway plans. BDRs, and traffic operations plans. Project also included the design of two interchanges. Responsibilities included the QC of the horizontal and vertical alignments. Designed the superelevation transitions. Also responsible for the variation package. The combined length of all projects is 5.33 miles. Project manager for the design team provides major highway design services. The western project (Project A) consists of the addition of two new lanes to provide a four-lane divided urban section along with the replacement of the existing two-lane bridge and construction of a new two-lane parallel bridge. The eastern projects (Projects B and C) will provide a four-lane divided urban highway. These projects include extensive right-of-way acquisition and coordination with local government. Cost: $29 million. (1) TITLE AND LOCATION (CIty and State) (2) YEAR COMPLETED Traffic Analysis for Nine Intersections PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If Applicable) Miami-Dade County, FL 2006 e. (3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Bnef scope. size. cost. etc) AND SPECIFIC ROLE [X] Check if project performed with current firm Project manager for traffic operational analyses that were performed for MDPWD as part of the short-term traffic solutions effort for the County's list of congested intersections. During the last quarter of 2005, the County issued a list of 25 intersections and suggested modifications to those intersections. Toward the end of the year, the County assigned nine of the intersections to Kimley-Horn that were within FOOT right-of-way. The County asked that we perform traffic analyses and confirm the suggested modifications within a month (a very accelerated schedule). We completed the task in January 2006 and held meetings with FOOT. who approved the concepts. We also worked on the design of several of these intersections. Cost: $66.000.
