Currently serving as a designer and working with the <br /> architectural design team to develop a truly urban mixed-use master plan that can support 4,500 residential units, 1.2 million square feet of commercial <br /> development, offices, and parks. The design includes nearly 12,000 linear feet of urban streetscapes, a linear park system, an urban plaza. and a series of vest <br /> pocket parks. Kimley-Horn authored streetscape design guidelines for the project and prepared a regional activity center justification report to increase DRI <br /> thresholds. The firm is currently designing all public infrastructure including roadways. utilities. traffic, landscape, and urban design elements, as well as private <br /> developments as they come on line. As part of the effort. transportation plans <br /> were reviewed to gather information about planned and programmed transportation improvements within the Village. Existing traffic conditions were assessed to <br /> evaluate demand on the existing street network and to perform an initial determination of needs. Project manager for this master plan and streetscape project. The Miami Jewelry District is the fourth largest Jewelry District in the United States (after New York. <br />Chicago, and Los Angeles). Located in the heart of downtown Miami, the Jewelry District is comprised of primarily of wholesale jewelry business with some retail <br /> component in four city blocks. For the past decade. downtown Miami has been undergoing an economic revitalization which includes the introduction of several high-rise <br /> mixed-use developments, as well as public infrastructure projects including the renovation of Flagler Street. Miami's main street; a new downtown master plan; and the <br /> soon to come light rail line; which will run through the Jewelry District. The Jewelry District master plan and streetscape improvements are the next phase in the <br /> continuing improvement of downtown. The current plan stems from the previously mentioned Downtown Master Plan and a vision study done for the Jewelry District. <br /> The main purpose of this current Jewelry District planning is to establish a clear and unique identity for the Jewelry District and to implement that identity within the <br /> public right of way (ROW). Kimley-Horn developed an implementation master plan for the ROW elements within the Jewelry District. In addition. we produce construction <br /> documents for the streetscapes based on the implementation master plan. Cost: TBD. <br />
