<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting October 14,2010 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach. Florida <br /> <br />Commissioner Brezin asked in what way does this effect us in the event that someone wants <br />to screen-in and enclose their dock, and Mr. Vera said these docks are very narrow and are for <br />boat docking only. A screen enclosure out into the waterway is not permitted under the Code. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to adopt the <br />ordinance. RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />lOA. A Resolution ofthe City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />the Award of RFP No. 10-08-03 to and Entering into an Agreement with Sugars Drop <br />Shop for Concessionaire Services for the Skateboard Park Located at Town Center <br />Park, in Substantially the Same Form as Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the <br />Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things <br />Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and Human Services Director Susan <br />Simpson reported noting that this proposal is to operate the entire Skateboard Park area and <br />includes $450.00 per month rent to be paid to the City with a provision for additional fees if <br />they hold special events, etc., there would be a percentage of revenue. She noted one change <br />to the agreement adding a security deposit fee in the first month's rent. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Brezin asked that the record reflect that the concessionaire would not have the <br />ability to increase the prices or make any changes, and that the City would still remain <br />control over the entry fee. Ms. Simpson said that they have in their proposal that entry fees <br />are set at $2.00 on weekdays, and $5.00 on weekends. City residents would get a discounted <br />rate, and so that would be the minimum rate, non-residents would be a slight increase, and <br />any changes to those rates would have to be approved by the City Manager or his designee. <br />She noted that representatives from the Sugars Drop Shop are here tonight. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution, as amended. Resolution No. 2010-1619 was adopted by a voice vote of5-0 in <br />favor. <br /> <br />6 <br />
