Downtown Traffic Study, Delray Beach, FL
This project studied various aspects of downtown
traffic operations, including evaluations of traffic
signal timing within the downtown study area,
performance of traffic signal warrant analyses, and
evaluation of one -way vs. two -way operation of two
study roadways for the existing and future traffic
conditions.
Pines Boulevard /Flamingo Road Conceptual
Design Study, City of Pembroke Pines, FL
Analyzed the existing and future travel demand at
the intersection and the ability of various at -grade
and grade- separated interchange options to
accommodate projected traffic volumes for the
horizon year of 2025. The intersection currently
operates at capacity and is identified by the
Broward Long -Range Transportation Plan as a
prospective urban interchange. A graphic
presentation was prepared, summarizing the
analyses and a selected interchange alternative
improvement, and presented to the City of
Pembroke Pines Commission, the Broward County
Technical Coordinating Committee and the
Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Seagate and Marina Traffic Calming, City of
Delray Beach
The project consisted of reviewing previous traffic
analyses related to the temporary closure of SE 4 th
Street east of Federal Highway in the Marina District
and determining the proper implementation of
different traffic calming techniques in this
neighborhood.
Downtown /Marina District Parking Study, City of
Boynton Beach
Performed an analysis of the downtown
business /marina district parking demand, which
includes over 10 city blocks. Alternative shared
parking plans were analyzed and cost vs. benefits
ratios based on the shared parking strategies were
developed, which included parking shuttles and
parking structures. Results of the study were
presented to the City Commission.
Citywide Traffic Calming /Mitigation, City of
Coral Gables
Provide conceptual outline to transportation plan for
Citywide Study to develop traffic calming measures
and a comprehensive transportation plan to address
intrusive traffic patterns throughout the various
neighborhoods. Developed peak period signal
timing for multiple corridors throughout the City
using TRANSYT -7F.
Districtwide General Planning Consultant —
Systems, FDOT District IV
Planning study work orders for five - country study
area including Districtwide Access Management,
Broward County Action Plans Review, Design
Traffic Forecasting and Park - and -Ride Lot Study.
Districtwide Travel Demand Forecasts, FDOT District IV
Determination and assignment of future demand at over 150
locations in the five - county area, including SR -80 /Southern
Boulevard from SR -7 to SR -A1A, SR- 714 /Martin Highway
from Florida's Turnpike to US -1, and the 1 -95 Interchange
with Glades Road. Development and testing of forecast
program, DTE.
Districtwide Development of Regional Impact Reviews,
FDOT District IV
Provided a complete transportation review of over 10 DRI's
NOPC, and substantial deviations per South Florida
Regional Planning Council, Guidelines for Development of
Regional Impacts, Chapter 380.06, Florida Statutes.
Intersection Design — USA /Port St. Lucie Boulevard
(SR -716), St. Lucie County
Developed design concepts that solved geometric and
operational problems at the intersection. The conceptual
alternatives included a fully expanded eight -lane inter-
section, northbound triple left -turn lane, northbound left -
turn flyover, and Single Point Urban Interchange. The
conceptual alternatives were graphically depicted to
illustrate land configuration and right -of -way impacts. The
study also included a level of service analysis, estimated
construction and right -of -way costs. St. Lucie TAC and
MPO based its recommendation to FDOT on this study.
Districtwide Traffic Count Program, FDOT District IV
Database management of District's traffic counts for Peak,
Off Peak, and Interchange Ramp data. Developed
seasonal and axle loading factors for each county in
District IV. Initiated inventory of each travel demand
forecast and the factors utilized in the analysis.
Downtown Bypass Study, City of Delray Beach
Evaluation of design alternatives, such as variable number
of lanes, one -way versus two -way designation, and
removal and inclusion of key traffic signals, utilizing
computer simulation modeling. Development of a signal
optimization plan for downtown corridor.
1 -295 Corridor Study, FDOT District 11, Jacksonville, FL
Evaluation of exiting and proposed operational improve-
ments of two interchanges along 1 -295 using microscopic
simulation. The Interstate corridor, interchanges and their
potential impacts upon the regional roadway network were
analyzed to assess benefits of proposed design. Recom-
mendations included modifications to acceleration and
deceleration lanes.
PA Route 611 Corridor Signal Optimization, Bucks
County, PA
Developed multiple peak period signal timing plans for eleven
intersections along PA Route 611, using TRANSYT -7F, based
upon the addition of a 390,000 square foot multi -use develop-
ment, to provide optimal procession of traffic flow.
Farm Lane Corridor Study, East Lansing, Michigan
Evaluation of progression opportunities along signalized
corridor and its impacts. The study included the impacts a
railroad crossing has on the corridor as blockage time
increases.
