A. Tie Rods are to be mild steel with a minimum tensile strength of <br />60,000 psi. <br />B. Tie rods shall be sized as shown on the Drawings and conform to <br />ASTM A -36. <br />C. Tie rods shall be new and of consistent mill stock. <br />D. Tie rods shall be straight and of uniform diameter. <br />E. Rebar shall not be used as tie rod stock. <br />5.2 COATINGS: <br />A. Rods are to be coated with Koppers "BITUMASTIC 300 M" or <br />approved equal. <br />B. Coatings to extend 4" into cap. <br />C. Re -Coat anchor end including bearing plate and nuts after installation. <br />5.3 TERMINATION: <br />A. Tie rods shall be threaded at each end for a minimum of 3" with the <br />appropriate thread pitch for the tae rod diameter. <br />B.
