' 2.3 BENCH MARKS AND MONUMENTS: <br />Maintain carefully all bench marks, monuments and other reference points. If <br />' disturbed or destroyed, replace as directed. <br />2.4 SURVEY: <br />A. Horizontal control and spot elevation checks by an independent surveyor <br />may be made as directed by the ENGINEER to determine conformance with <br />the Contract Documents. <br />B. Initial survey checks shall be paid for by the COUNTY. Any rechecking <br />required due to non - conformance shall be paid for by the CONTRACTOR. <br />2.5 DENSITY TESTS: <br />Field density control tests shall be made as directed by the ENGINEER to <br />determine conformance with these specifications. Tests shall be performed <br />by a qualified testing laboratory and shall be the COUNTY's responsibility to <br />obtain and pay the costs. <br />2.6 FILL MATERIAL: <br />A balance of existing material will be accomplished.
