C. If condition requires, CONTRACTOR shall leave in place any or all sheeting <br />for the purpose of preventing injury to structures, property or persons. If left <br />in place, such sheeting shall be cut off at least twenty -four (24) inches below <br />the final grade elevation. Bracing left in place shall be driven up tight prior to <br />backfilling the excavation. <br />D. All sheeting or bracing left in place shall not be backfilled without inspection <br />of the ENGINEER. <br />2.10 EXCAVATIONS: <br />A. Excavations shall be true to line and grade indicated on Drawings and shall <br />conform to following: <br />1) Excavation shall include removal of all materials of every description as <br />required to accomplish the Work. <br />2) CONTRACTOR shall control grading around excavations so that ground <br />is pitched to prevent water from running into excavated areas. <br />2.11 FILLING AND BACKFILLING: <br />A.
