2.12 COMPACTION: <br />A. Compaction shall be performed in a manner such that new and existing walls, <br />footings, and other structures are undisturbed and undamaged. <br />B. Compaction specified hereinafter shall be minimum percentage of the <br />maximum dry density as indicated by the modified Proctor Compaction Test <br />(ASTM 1557). or ASSHO T -180. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall supply test results to the ENGINEER upon <br />completion of work. Compaction tests shall be done on the backfill of all <br />tie -back anchors or as directed by the ENGINEER. The COUNTY will pay <br />for Density Tests. <br />2.13 GRADING: <br />A. Perform all compaction, rough and finish grading required to obtain grades <br />indicated on Drawings as follows: <br />1) Surfaces shall be true to lines and grades indicated on Drawings. <br />2) Grades, not otherwise indicated, shall be uniform slopes between points <br />and /or existing grades. <br />3) Tolerance for any specific grade shown on Drawings shall be plus or <br />minus one -tenth of one foot, but the average elevation for the area shall <br />be as specified. <br />4) Finish surfaces shall be uniformly graded with rounded transitions and be <br />free of holes, ridges and other irregularities. <br />2.14 EROSION CONTROL: <br />TS -7 <br />RJC/08WSUNNY ISLES/TECHSPECS <br />
