Carter & Burgess worked hand -in -hand with the Developer to create a project that would help to set a new standard in the City of Sunrise. The unique Manor Home product presented by the Client offered significant design challenges on the undesirable site. Keeping the lines of communication open with the client, the design team led by Carter & Burgess creates an attractive 105 -unit active adult gated community in the heard of Central Broward. The firm prepared plat and survey documents, site plans, engineering plans, landscape plans, and hardscape plans for the main entry way and entrance features. Development is expected to commence in 2007. Isles of Oakland Park, Oakland Park, FL; Project Manager. Carter & Burgess was contracted by Lennar Homes in 2004 to develop concept drawings for a 19.42 -acre, 200 -unit gated townhome community on the western edges of the City of Oakland Park. Since providing the client with the drawings, the scope has been broadened to include civil engineering, site planning, landscape architecture, hardscape, pool, and irrigation plans. The project will boast a gated brick pane entrance -way flanked by small lakes, a lagoon -style swimming pool, and a children's play area. Working closely with both the Developer and the City's Staff, the project has quickly entered the clearing stages and full construction is expected to begin by mid 2006. Georgetown, Lauderhill, FL; Project Manager. Carter & Burgess was hired by the developer of this unique property to prepare landscape and hardscape designs to establish a theme for the new community. The project is situated in one of central Broward's minority cities and was a former industrial site that provided telecommunications services worldwide. The County recently purchased a 100 -acre former commercial site south of the 'Georgetown' site and has progressed with plans for a new regional park serving the unique recreational needs of this area's Caribbean residents. The owner and developer of the site with the cooperation of the City have sought a land use amendment for the site to allow for multi - family residential development.
