Development will commence in 2006 with homes being built for more than 600 new <br />Lauderhill residents in this gracefully redeveloping city. <br />City of Oakland Park, Dog Park, Oakland Park, FL; Landscape Designer. Carter & Burgess was <br />commissioned to develop, design, and permit plans for the City's first dog park, located on a 2.5- <br />acre abandoned Police & Sheriff's training site. Carter & Burgess provided complete professional <br />services for the project including design and construction documents for two large and separate <br />canine fitness courses with 18 exercise stations, new parking and lighting, picnic shelters, an office <br />management kiosk, a pet wash -down station, as well as unique signage, fencing, and access <br />control features to insure safe and friendly operations. The project commenced construction in <br />2005, and will be completed in 2006. <br />City of Oakland Park, Royal Palm Park, Oakland Park, FL; Landscape Designer. The existing Royal <br />Palm Park, which is over 30 acres and more than 20 years old, was scheduled for modernization <br />and additions through some significant Florida FRDAP grant awards. Carter & Burgess was selected <br />to provide full design, permitting, and construction phase services. Plans for new facilities included <br />restrooms, pedestrian and fitness trails, and a fishing pier. The expansive list of improvements <br />included resurfacing for basketball, volleyball, and bocce courts; a parking area expansion and <br />resurfacing; new roofing for existing picnic shelters; and playground surface safety and handicap <br />upgrades. The project commenced construction in 2005, and will be completed in 2006. <br />1 -95 at Oakland Park Boulevard Master Landscape Plan, Oakland Park, FL; Landscape Designer. The <br />City of Oakland Park, with the City of Wilton Manors, has commissioned Carter & Burgess to prepare <br />conceptual plans for the interchange of Oakland Park Boulevard and 1 -95 in central Broward <br />County. This interchange serves as a 'Gateway' to both Cities, and is being cooperatively funded <br />by FDOT under their own 'Greening Gateways' initiative. The interchange covers over 50 acres, and <br />carries some of the highest daily traffic volumes in South Florida. <br />
