0 Professional Experience and Accomplishments Dr. Carroll has been working as a key contributor on several wireless network designs for public sector applications. These include fixed wireless solutions, ad -hoc networking solutions and first responder initiatives. Dr. Carroll has also performed site evaluations for fixed wireless and ad -hoc wireless solutions. Dr. Carroll successfully integrated video solutions with ad -hoc technologies for multiple demonstrations, including a week -long IBM hosted session in November of 2003 in New York City. In addition to designing wireless networks for the public sector Sarah has experience integrating and deploying both wired and wireless networks for IBM. Sarah has worked installing wireless local area networks (WLANs) in hospitals and educational facilities. She has installed and upgraded existing wired networks for multiple industry clients. Other Direct Work Experiences During her tenure at Boston University, Dr. Carroll analyzed wireless multi -path infrared channels to create probabilistic models of infrared wireless communications for use in network simulation. These models were added to an ad -hoc network simulation environment, extending the physical layer capabilities of the simulator. The probabilistic models allow for the first large scale simulation environment including the wireless infrared medium. 0 Credentials • Dr. Carroll received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, magna cum laude. There she received the James L. Massey Award for excellence in the signals and systems side of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Carroll received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. She received the prestigious Presidential University Graduate Fellowship to attend Boston University. Dr. Carroll has received over 100 hours of industry training including the Cisco 3200 Mobile Access Router, MeshNetworks Inc., and the Alvarion Certified Wireless Network Engineer courses. Michael J.
