� 3.08 <br />t <br />t <br />1 07/06 <br />A. Protection of Graded Areas: Protect newly graded areas from traffic and <br />erosion. Keep free of trash and debris. <br />1. Repair and re- establish grades in settled, eroded, and rutted areas <br />to specified tolerances. <br />B. Reconditioning Compacted Areas: Where completed compacted areas <br />are disturbed by subsequent construction operations or adverse weather, <br />scarify surface, reshape, and compact to required density prior to further <br />construction. <br />DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS AND WASTE MATERIAL <br />A. All surplus and unsuitable excavated material shall be disposed of in one <br />of the following ways as directed by the Engineer. <br />1. Transport to soil storage area on Owner's property and stockpile or <br />spread as directed by the Engineer. <br />2. Transport from Owner's property and legally dispose of. Any <br />permit required for the hauling and disposing of this material <br />beyond Owner's property shall be obtained prior to commencing <br />hauling operations. <br />3. Transport from Owner's property to a remote location as directed <br />by the Owner or Engineer for use by the Owner. Costs for <br />transportation shall be borne by the Contractor. The remote <br />location shall be within the confines of the City. <br />B. Suitable excavated material may be used for fill if it meets that <br />specifications for satisfactory material and is approved by the Engineer. <br />Excavated material so approved may be neatly stockpiled at the site <br />where designated by the Engineer provided there is an area available <br />where it will not interfere with the operator of the facility nor inconvenience <br />traffic or adjoining property owners. <br />C.
