1 3.12 INSTALLATION SCHEDULE <br />A. Concrete for all structures shall have minimum compressive strength at 28 <br />days of 4000 psi unless otherwise indicated on the drawings. <br />3.13 FIELD CONTROL <br />A. The Contractor shall advise the Engineer of his readiness to proceed at <br />least one working day prior to each concrete placement. The Engineer <br />will inspect the preparations for concreting including the preparation of <br />previously placed concrete, the reinforcing and the alignment and <br />tightness of formwork. No placement shall be made without the prior <br />approval of the Engineer. <br />B. The Engineer may have cores taken from any questionable area in the <br />concrete work such as construction joints and other locations as required <br />for determination of concrete quality. The results of tests on such cores <br />shall be the basis for acceptance, rejection or determining the <br />continuation of concrete work. <br />C. The Contractor shall cooperate in obtaining cores by allowing free access <br />to the work and permitting the use of ladders, scaffolding and such <br />incidental equipment as may be required. The Contractor shall repair all <br />core holes to the satisfaction of the Engineer. The work of cutting and <br />testing the cores will be at the expense of the Owner if cores test <br />satisfactorily and will be at the expense of the Contractor if cores test <br />unsatisfactorily. <br />December 2006 <br />END OF SECTION <br />03300 -17 06 -5723 <br />
