Signature Style.
We have visited the site on several occasions and have gained significant
knowledge of the site and its vicinity, and are aware of the importance in selecting
the type of structure that will enhance the environment and physical conditions of
the site, minimizing adverse conditions to the resident of the area. Aesthetic
treatment of the structure will be addressed during the conceptual design making
of the structure during the original usage an attractive thoroughfare for pedestrian
and bike users.

3.2.1.5. Alignment.
Horizontal aligrunents connecting North Bay Road from 172nd Street and 174th
Street will be studied and coordinated with our bridge staff to accommodate the
most efficient and aesthetically pleasant structure.

3.2.1.6. Load requirements.
The structure will be designed to carry AASHTO H20 loading plus pedestrian
loads.

3.2.1.7. Geometry Constrain.

3.2.1.7.1. Water Clearance
Type of bridge alternatives will consider a minimum vertical clearance of 6 foot,
measured from the high water elevation to the lowest member of the
superstructure.

3.2.1.7.2 Design Speed.
The design speed will be based on the preferred horizontal aligrunent and will
range between 15 mph to 25 mph.

3.2.2. Boardwalk
A 12-foot wide boardwalk is proposed to be located along the South edge of the
canal connecting the existing Town Center Park at its West end, to the East
sidewalk of the proposed bridge system at the
Southeast comer. Measuring approximately 850 feet,
this timber structure will excel the natural scene of the
canal and at the same time will provide a relaxed
envirorunent for pedestrians. The proposed structure
will be constructed at the edge of the existing
mangroves to minimize any envirorunental impact to the ecosystem and to
facilitate related permitting issues. The design will comply with the latest
Boardwalk Design Guidelines and will meet ADA compliance to guarantee
comfortable and easy access to disable citizens. Our structural staff will closely
coordinate with Terracon (Geotechnical Sub-consultant) to efficiently design of
the foundation.

T:IMARKETINGIPROPOSALSIMARKETING,0710724 pedestrian bridgelDoclPedestrian Bridge and boardwalk.doc
