Information will be prepared that will include construction schedules, anticipated construction impacts and action plan, lists of elected officials, mailing list of impacted property owners, a timetable of action plan and method of measuring results, In order to prepare the community for this upcoming project the Public Involvement team will identify potentially significant community issues that should either be satisfactorily addressed in order to allow the project to move forward, or cause the project to be re-evaluated, Also, it is important to identify the key individuals that may support and or oppose the project, Those that support the project are very useful as sources of information about the community and those that oppose the project need to be dealt with so the project can proceed with minimal controversy, OTHER CONSIDERATIONS utilities Knowing that utility related problems are a leading cause of delays that occur during the construction phase of highway projects, utility coordination will commence promptly from the kick off meeting and continue through final project certification, Our previous experience has taught us that having a single design engineer charged with the responsibility of coordinating all utility related issues is the most effective means of accomplishing the utility coordination task, Our preliminary research on this project has identified the following Utilities providing service in the project area: · City of North Miami Beach - Potable Water Distribution · Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department - Sanitary Sewage Collection and Transmission · Florida Power & Light - Electrical Power · Bell South/ATT - Telephone · Atlantic Communication - Cable TV · Peoples Gas - Natural Gas Lighting The approach to lighting will be to provide uniform illumination across the bridge and boardwalk sections and reduce the light trespass to neighboring communities.
