NW 25 Street Roadway Reconstruction and New Construction of Viaduct, Miami-Dade County (1999- 2005) Design Project Engineer and Deputy Manager responsible for the design of this Reconstruction of NW 25th Street, a county road, from NW 87th Avenue to NW 67th Avenue and construction of a new elevated viaduct from NW 82nd Avenue to the Miami International Airport (MIA) West Cargo Area. This project was a major ($200 million construction cost) Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) project for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) on a county road to improve capacity and mobility of airport cargo traffic along the corridor. Mr. Gonzalez designed and produced construction plans for the various elements of this major highway project such as drainage, profiles, alignments, cross sections, and traffic control plans according to federal, state, and local standards and guidelines. Mr. Gonzalez also coordination between all agencies, sub- consultants and the public. The project required coordination with Miami-Dade County Public Works, Miami- Dade Aviation Department, and DERM. Districtwide Traffic Operations and Safety Consultant, Miami-Dade County (2005 - 2007) Project Manager for the design of various safety improvements within FDOT District 6 for implementation of recommendations the District's Safety through their Safety Studies. Contract requires simultaneous task work orders to concurrently develop design and plans for several projects. Mr. Gonzalez successfully managed the design of three (3) projects, simultaneously, for proposed pedestrian safety improvements for 61 intersections throughout Miami-Dade County that included signalization and signing and pavement marking upgrades. (2004- Present) Project Manager responsible design and management of the Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (3R) of SR 834/Sample Road from Rock Island Road to Perimeter Road. The project includes pavement resurfacing, widening for additional lanes and bus bays, additional drainage improvements, pedestrian curb ramps and upgrades to the signing and pavement markings, and signalization.
