Dr. Sadough is experienced in both preliminary and final design of a variety of minor bridges and structures <br />utilizing precast segmental and structural steel (Steel Plate Girders and Steel Box Girders). Dr. Sadough is a participant and <br />reviewer in the AASHTO T-10 Committee of the latest upcoming changes to the Code. Selected bridge designs Dr. Sadough <br />has been involved include: <br /> <br />Pedestrian Bridge Over S.R. 826 and S.R. 826 (Palmetto Expressway) Section 2 Interchanges- Miami-Dade <br />County, Florida .FOOT District VI <br />This project has six steel box girders and four steel plate girders bridges (4,312 linear feet of steel box girders and steel <br />plate girders with continuous and simply supported spans, maximum span = 262'-6", curved and on tangent) with four (4) <br />Integral Steel Pier Caps. Dr. Soheila was the Project Engineer and she participated in the BDR super and <br />substructure design and her final design activities were the following: <br /> <br />a. Steel Box Girder Design for the curved one lane steel box girders Bridge NO.3 (Two Units: Unit NO.1 = 709' and Unit <br />NO.2 = 790', maximum span 229'). She also designed the Integral Pier Caps, Permanent Exterior Cross Frames, End <br />Bents and Typical Piers Diaphragms. <br />b. Steel design of two (2) Steel Box Girders bridges, one (1) Steel Plate Girder Bridge and one (1) Steel Box Girder <br />Pedestrian Bridge. <br />c. Review the Load Rating of several structures by the LRFR Method. This project was designed by the LFD <br />Method but the Department requested to perform the rating by the LRFR Method. <br /> <br />S.R. 934 (Hialeah Expressway) - Miami-Dade County, Florida -FDOT District VI <br />This project consisted of the widening of the simple supported steel plate girders bridges (slightly curved and on tangent <br />with six spans each @ 125') at S.R. 934 Over the FEC Railroad Crossing at W. 5th Way and the replacement of the existing <br />S.R. 934 Bridge Over the Miami Canal & S.R. 25 with simple and continuous steel plate girders straight spans. Dr. <br />Sadough was the Project Engineer for the bridges and she participated in the BDR superstructure design and her <br />final design activities were the following: <br /> <br />a. Participated in the Retrofit design and checking of the existing Integral Steel Pier Caps at S.R. 934 Over the FEC <br />Railroad Crossing at W. 5th Way. Vertical clearance constrains and the higher loads over the existing steel frame <br />require strengthening of the steel pier-cap and the foundation. <br />
