Since that <br />time he has served as a valuable member of the design team on numerous minor structures and major bridge assignments <br />utilizing precast segmental and structural steel (Steel Plate Girders and Steel Box Girders). <br /> <br />His design experience at BHA includes the design and checking of Steel "I" and Box Girder structures, in projects such <br />as: <br /> <br />. Pedestrian Bridge /1-95 at NW 65 Street, Miami-Dade County, Florida. <br /> <br />The structure is composed of two continuous single steel box girder spans over Interstate 1-95 and cast in place <br />approach spans. Mr. Amaya participated in the Steel Box Girder Design and Helix of the Pedestrian Ramp, <br /> <br />. S.R. 826 (Palmetto Expressway) Section 2 - FDOT District VI (Steel Box Girders Curved and Straight) <br /> <br />This project has six steel box girders and four steel plate girders bridges (4,312 linear feet of steel box girders and <br />steel plate girders with continuous and simply supported spans, maximum span of 262'-6", curved and on tangent) with <br />four (4) Integral Steel Pier Caps. Mr. Amaya participated in the BDR super and substructure design and in the <br />Quality Assurance Review of the Steel Box Girders Design and Contract Plans with the Project Engineer and <br />the Chief Structural Engineer. <br /> <br />. 1-951 1-595 Interchange, Broward County, Florida - FOOT District IV -(Steel Box Girders Curved and Straight) <br /> <br />This complex, fully directional four level interchange with maximum spans of 100 feet to 205 feet consists of nine <br />bridqes totaling 12,352 feet in length and included both concrete segmental and steel box girder design alternatives <br />(Steel boxes alternative was the low bidder). This project had the first single cell steel box girder bridge in the State of <br />Florida. Mr. Amaya designed the Steel Box Girders for six (6) bridges using the BSDI Program a 3 dimensional, <br />finite element program that accounts for all major stresses including torsion and warping. He also checked all <br />the superstructure deck pouring sequence of the referenced structures. <br /> <br />. Skyway Bridge Replacement, Steel I Girder Alternate, Tampa -FDOT District VII <br /> <br />BHA was a member of the team that designed the high-level steel alternative replacement for the 1-275 Bridge over <br />Tampa Bay. BHA served in an advisory and review capacity for the design of the 1 ,200-foot cable-stayed main span <br />and had the lead responsibility for the design of 6,320 feet of long-span high-level approaches. Mr. Amaya <br />participated in the design of the steel plate girders and the superstructure. <br /> <br />. Route 1 Over the James River, Steel Box Girder Alternate, Richmond, Virginia <br /> <br />This is a waterway crossing bridge; haunched steel box girders; 2 bridges @ 3,759' long; 110' high and 285' span. Mr. <br />
