MICHELSON, <br />AlA, LEED AP <br />PRINCIPAL-IN-CHARGE <br />(Mr. Michelson is our proposed <br />contact person; a more detailed <br />resume is in Section 5.) <br /> <br />Mark L. Saltz has more than 38 years of experience in the design of both public <br />and private projects. He is President and CEO of Saltz Michelson Architects, an <br />architectural and planning firm that he founded in 1976. The firm is dedicated to <br />the achievement of high quality design within the budgetary limitations and time <br />constraints of each client. The success of this philosophy is evidenced by the <br />many awards that have been bestowed upon the firm. <br /> <br />In addition to being a registered architect, he is also a licensed general contractor. <br />Mr. Saltz possesses considerable construction/development insight, and has <br />provided expert witness testimony in court cases involving construction litigation. <br />His experience includes a number of feasibility studies; he has been responsible <br />for numerous complex site approvals for both new and redevelopment projects. <br /> <br />Mr. Saltz was a member and past chairman of Broward County's Board of Rules <br />and Appeals for fourteen years and was responsible for chairing the rewriting of <br />the roofing section of the Building Code after Hurricane Andrew. His expertise in <br />code related issues and ADA analysis for new and renovation projects results in a <br />realistic and comprehensive approach to each project. <br /> <br />In addition to his responsibilities of office management, client relations, and <br />administrative activities, Mr. Michelson maintains an active role in the planning, <br />design, and production of architectural projects for the firm. <br /> <br />With his background in Urban Planning, he participates in programming, feasibility <br />studies, site planning and other research projects. As Principal-in-Charge of <br />Public Projects for the firm, Mr. Michelson has been responsible for overseeing <br />the new construction, renovation and additions to numerous public buildings and <br />has provided design services for numerous park facilities. <br /> <br />In conjunction with the firm's open ended contracts with Broward County, Mr. <br />Michelson has prepared studies for redevelopment, mixed use, and low cost <br />housing for projects such as the NW 27th Avenue Corridor study in Fort <br />Lauderdale. The master plan of Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood has <br />included more than a year's worth of presentations, meetings, and design <br />charrettes in an effort to incorporate neighborhood concerns and buffers into its <br />expansion plans. <br /> <br />He has also worked with the Department of Management Services and <br />archeologists for the protection of the Miami Circle and creation of its long term <br />development plans. <br /> <br />Mr. Michelson's diverse experience also includes the renovation, remodeling, <br />expansion to the Police Athletic League (PAL) facility in Miramar, YMCA in <br />Hollywood, and Boulevard Heights Community Center in Hollywood. <br /> <br />Relevant Proiects (Continuina Contracts) <br />· City of Coral Springs <br />· City of Lauderdale Lakes <br />· City ofT amarac <br />· Broward County <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />. <br />
