I. ~~ PAVARINI ~ CONSTRUCTION COMPANY PROCUREMENT STRATEGY Pavarini will provide a procurement strategy for early commitment and award of critical trades and items such as structure, elevators and piles as necessary to maintain the project schedule. MEP AND ELEVATORS Mechanical equipment and electrical rooms will be constructed as early as possible to insure adequate time for testing and inspection. A systematic start-up and commissioning plan of all MEP, Fire Alarm, and Life Safety systems will be performed to allow for an orderly turnover of all of the systems for operation by the building operator. As sequencing is completed Pavarini will require testing of Fire and Life Safety systems to assure that continuity exists at all connections. Early coordination with FPl will be critical to obtaining permanent power as required to support the project needs. SAFElY Upon award of THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH HERITAGE PARK & PARKING GARAGE project, Pavarini South East Construction Company will develop comprehensive site specific plans for Safety and Health, Emergency Preparedness, Hurricane Preparedness and Community Coordination and Control. These plans will emphasize the importance of the protection and well being of everyone involved in the project as well as the community surrounding the project, both directly and indirectly. Pavarini has adopted a "management systems" approach to controlling workplace safety, health and environment hazards. This system is compliant with the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSASl 18001. Pavarini's Safety, Health and Environment Management System Standard provide a means of achieving a safe and healthy workplace and a protected environment through continuous improvement in safety performance. It also formalizes the Pavarini approach to safety management to establish consistency across the organization and sets out requirements and specifications for compliance with the provisions of the Povarini corporate Safety and Health Program, S.A.F.E. (Safety Accountability for Everyone). In addition, the system is a key element in demonstrating that the organization and its management demonstrate "due diligence" in managing safety issues. Pavarini Safety Management: . Establishes sound management practices and processes on all projects to promote a strong safety performance that is sustainable and transferable across the organization. . Clearly sets out and formalizes the expectations of Pavarini with respect to safety and health management. Provides a systematic approach to the identification of safety issues and establishes a system of risk identification and management, Provides a framework for personal, site and corporate safety responsibility and leadership and provides a systematic approach for the attainment of Pavarini's safety objectives. . Assures conformity with Pavarini's policies and objectives and ensures that these continue to have relevance and add value to the business. . Promotes continued improvement of the safety program and performance. . Compatible with the OHSAS 18001 (Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Seriesl Health and Safety Management System Standard and the ISO 14001 (International Organization for Standardization) Environment Management System Standard. Straightforward in design and is intended as an effective management tool for all types of business activities and operations.
