<br />1. The firm shall demonstrate an understanding and an ability to coordinate and <br />communicate with the project design consultants and their subconsultants. <br />2. The firm shall demonstrate the ability to certify that projects have been completed in <br />substantial conformance with the plans and specifications. An understanding of <br />acceptable methods of construction for the following types of projects/tasks are <br />required: <br />a. Pier and bridge Design <br />b. Pier and bridge construction <br />c. Pile design and methods of installation Getting vs non-jetting, auger cast vs <br />prestressed, etc...) <br />d. An understanding of wetland mitigation <br />e. Building design and construction <br /> <br />B. Professional Permit Processor and Coordinator with AHJs: <br /> <br />1. The firm shall provide information that demonstrates the ability of the firm to <br />coordinate and resolve matters related to environmental permitting with agencies <br />that have jurisdiction over piers, bridges, navigable waterways, canals, and <br />mangroves. <br /> <br />C. Designer: <br /> <br />1. The firm shall provide information that will demonstrate the firm's ability in the area <br />of design in the areas of Civil Site (i.e. utilities, barrier island drainage, water and <br />sewer, transportation, traffic, to name a few), Structural (piling and bridge/pier <br />construction), MEP, Electrical, Life Safety, Fire, Landscaping, and Surveying. <br />2. The firm shall demonstrate the ability to read, understand, and approve concrete <br />design mixes for structures in beach and canal environments on barrier islands and <br />other geotechnical information. <br /> <br />3.4 SPECIAL INSPECTIONS <br /> <br />As part of the RFQ, the firms will be required to provide qualifications (or the ability to obtain <br />such services) in the area of Special Inspections in accordance to the latest version of the Florida <br />Building Code and as required for permitting. All special inspectors must be certified and <br />approved to conduct business in Miami-Dade County. <br /> <br />In addition to the services outlined by the FBC, the firm shall also provide a qualifications in the <br />following areas: <br /> <br />1. Rebar inspections <br />2. Precast yard - prestressed pile inspections <br />3. Inspections in accordance to ACI-304 <br /> <br />3.5 GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES &. MATERIAL TESTING SERVICES <br /> <br />The firm/consultant shall demonstrate their qualifications in the field of geotechnical engineering <br />as it is related similar projects as described in Section 3.1. Services shall include, subsurface <br />investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical engineering consulting and design services <br />necessary for the projects listed in Section 3.1. <br /> <br />PAGE 24 OF 34 <br />BID No. 11-07-01 <br />
