<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />April 21, 2011 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />10E. A Resolution ofthe City Commission ofthe City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />the Purchase of 48 HeartStart FRx Defibrillators from Phillips Healthcare, Inc. in an <br />Amount Not to Exceed $51,328.64, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A", Piggybacking offfrom <br />the Seminole County Contract No. IFB-3125-05/JVP; Authorizing the City Manager to Do <br />All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Captain Michael Grandinetti reported that this <br />would be paid through a COPS Technology Grant. He noted that by piggybacking off from <br />the Seminole County Contract it gives us a 54% discount off the retail value. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Mayor Edelcup asked that the old defibrillators be checked out to see if they are working and <br />then give them to a community that can use them. Captain Grandinetti said he did speak <br />with the vendor who indicated that he would come in and evaluate each one as to what is <br />operational and what should be taken offthe market. ChiefMaas said through this $200,000 <br />Grant, the City will benefit from this equipment without spending tax dollars, and it was due <br />to the efforts of Captain Grandinetti and Detective Luke Plesa. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2011-1703 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10F. A Resolution of the City Commission ofthe City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />the Chief of Police, in Accordance with the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984, to <br />Expend up to $72,000.00 from the Federal Forfeiture (DOJ) Funds for the Purchase of <br />Two (2) Outboard Boat Motors, Surveillance Cameras/Equipment for Heritage Park, <br />Motorcycle Trailer and Miscellaneous Community Policing Items; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Police Chief Maas reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2011-1704 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />lOG. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />the Purchase of Two (2) Outboard Boat Motors from TnT Custom Marine, Inc. for the <br />Police Department, in an Amount Not to Exceed $30,000.00, Attached Hereto As Exhibit <br />"A"; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Captain Michael Grandinetti reported noting <br />this includes installation. This is a 35% discount under the State contract and will be paid <br />through the Forfeiture Account. ChiefMaas noted that the Police boat has been in dry dock <br />as the five-year old engines need to be replaced, and are too costly to repair without warranty. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution.
