<br />c <br /> <br />c <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach: Special Inspection Services <br />RFO No. 11-07-11 <br /> <br />2.5 <br /> <br />REPRESENTATIVE PROFESSIONAL DESIGN AND CONSULTING SERVICES EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />URS is one of the largest FDOT roadway and bridge designers in the state of Florida as well as nationally <br />and have successfully designed and completed hundreds of major roadway and bridge projects <br />throughout the state of Florida. URS has roadway design and traffic engineering staff located in our Ft. <br />Lauderdale office and our Miami and Boca Raton offices maintains a large staff of roadway and <br />bridge/structural design personnel. Additionally, the Boca Raton office provides a full range of multi- <br />disciplinary engineering design capabilities including civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural <br />engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, environmental engineering and permitting. The URS <br />Boca Raton office has been providing "Full Services" engineering design services to the SFWMD on major <br />Everglades Restoration projects for over the last 15 years. <br /> <br />The following Design Projects presented in this RFP are a compendium of selected examples of the bridge <br />design, facilities design and projects with significant environmental permitting challenges which demonstrate <br />the broad range of design and design coordination services URS is capable of providing to the City in <br />support of this RFP. <br /> <br />Desiqn Proiect #1 - Southeast 17th Street Causeway Bridqe Replacement, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida <br /> <br /> <br />URS, through our subsidiary EC Driver, designed a new twin double-leaf bascule bridge designated as the <br />"Gateway to Fort Lauderdale". The new bridge greatly alleviated congestion for both vehicular and boat <br />traffic and accomplished many of the Department of Transportation's goals. The design development <br />process involved extensive community involvement. Two design charettes were held to build consensus <br />among residents and local business owners.
