<br />c <br /> <br />c <br /> <br />c <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach: Special Inspection Services <br />RFO No. 11-07-11 <br /> <br />On projects and assignments with the City of Sunny Isles Beach, the URS permitting specialist(s) will work <br />closely with City staff and other consultants in pre-application meetings and monitoring and responding to <br />regulatory permitting questions and comments with the intent of rapidly identifying and responding to <br />requests for additional information prior to formal comments being received on the application. <br /> <br />URS permitting support will implement the following: <br />. Develop and maintaining a project permit status listing/matrix to track the process and <br />follow-up activities <br />· Facilitate pre-submittal coordination meetings with the regulatory agencies <br />. Perform detailed reviews of the agencies' rules, regulations, codes, etc. to minimize <br />agency comments relative to new permitting efforts <br />· Review prepared drawings, sketches, support documentation for Quality and <br />correctness that is easily interpreted by the agency reviewers <br />· Coordinate, communicate and facilitate with the permitting consultant and agency <br />reviewers during the Agency review process on interpreting and understanding the <br />reviewer's questions and preliminary comments with the purpose of resolving or <br />answering the question before it becomes a formal RAI <br />. Facilitate and coordinate immediate response to the reviewer's comments and RAi's <br />. Review and facilitate clear and concise response documentation with the reviewers <br />comments and consultants responses noted <br /> <br />The permit specialist(s) will be responsible for scheduling and providing preliminary and initial permit <br />submittals to the regulatory agencies and for reviewing permit submittals with the URS and City Project <br />Manager and regulatory staff to clarify/review data/designs in the permits. The intent of the above permit <br />management process is to minimize the review time and unnecessary review and comment iteration periods <br />that unfortunately befall some difficult projects. If necessary, City council will be invited to attend regulatory <br />meetings in addition to URS and City personnel. <br /> <br />2.7 SPECIAL INSPECTIONS <br /> <br />The Project Manager (PM) will provide the daily single point of contact for the City regarding project CM and <br />Special Inspection support services. Our PM, Mr. Jose Polo is highly experienced on FOOT bridge projects <br />in providing the various inspections required for such structures and will bring his expertise and experience to <br />bear on the City's projects. Mr. Polo was the PM for the recently completed Bridge of Lion's replacement <br />project in St. Augustine, FL and was also the Lead resident CEI office engineer on the Royale Park <br />Replacement Bridge in downtown West Palm Beach completed in 2007. <br /> <br />Special Inspection Services. In accordance with the RFP, Special Inspections will be required to be <br />performed for the Dade County Building Department in accordance with the requirements of the Florida <br />Building Code.
