The project was to inspect and assess the existing bascule <br />bridges and provide a cost to bring the bridges back into service. Bridge was composed of precast panels making up the <br />superstmcture and pile bents as the substructure. \X1ork included retrofit <br />of non-standard traffic railings (including guardrail approaches), <br />rehabilitation of the longitudinal joints between panels and replacement of <br />expansion joints.. <br /> <br />SR 5 JUS 1 South Reconstruction from MP 4.150 to MP 8,733, <br />Miami-Dade County, FL (DMJM-Harris, 2006) Bridge Engineer for <br />the proposed 120' span Wild Life Crossing #2 bridge in the controversial <br />18-Mile Stretch Project. Work included preparation of a Bridge <br />Development Report studying various stmctural alternatives. Responsible <br />for preliminary design of the 3-40' span continuous flat slab alternative, <br />the 120' single span prestressed concrete girder alternative, and the 2-60' <br />span prestressed concrete girder alternative with continuous CIP deck, <br />pile abutments and pile bents; and cost estimates for all alternatives. <br /> <br />Red Road Reconstruction Retaining Wall Design, Miami-Dade <br />County, FL (DMJM-Harris, 2004-05) Bridge Engineer for the design <br />of multiple steel sheet pile walls along the Red Road accommodating the <br />widening of roadway and dredging of the adjacent canal. Walls were <br />designed with a barrier wall on top. Developed Retaining Wall Study and <br />preliminary design drawings for cantilever sheet pile walls. The method of <br />design was in LPD using the software CW ALSHT. <br /> <br />FDOT, US 41/SR 45, Pasco County, FL (DMJM-Harris, 2000) <br />Designed temporary sheet pile walls (100 meters) including braced and <br />anchored walls, for the removal of existing organic soils. <br /> <br />r <br />~ <br /> <br />Florida Turnpike, Palm Beach County, FL (DMJM-Harris, 1999), <br />Bridge Engineer for the load rating of four (4) bridges located on the <br />Florida Turnpike within Palm Beach County.
