<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />June 17,2004 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach. Rorida <br /> <br />Public Speakers: William Lone; Alex Morgan; Juan Urbano of X Channel <br /> <br />Mayor Ede1cup asked if this event is taking place on the Trump property and Ms. <br />Simpson said on the beach behind the Trump construction site. Vice Mayor Goodman <br />said he would like to delete the jet skis in the future for anyone using them on the beach <br />because they become dangerous for people in the water, and Ms. Simpson said that this <br />would require another permit from Miami-Dade County which the promoters will be <br />applying for. She said what we are doing tonight is agreeing that it can be held in the City <br />but they still have to go through all the Miami-Dade County permits. <br /> <br />William Lone of the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association, distributed a schedule of <br />events and noted that this event will have 62 million exposures internationally. He <br />reported on traffic and parking issues for this event, and that there would be parking at <br />Haulover, Thunderbird, and under the William Lehman Causeway. He said the <br />Association is incurring a number of costs including: 1) cost for all transportation <br />requirements for all the buses to run people from lot to lot and to the site; 2) electronic <br />signage that the Police require to direct those people in a orderly fashion; and 3) to <br />provide for the procreation of the turtles and have made arrangements to have a turtle <br />sentry. He said that the event is free to the public. He said that the Producer will have to <br />bear the cost of cleanup after the event. Ms. Simpson said that all pre-event advertising <br />will have the City of Sunny Isles Beach logo on it, and during the show there will be <br />banners with the City logo. Lt. Feisthammel reported that the Police Department is <br />involved in the planning of this event. <br /> <br />Commissioner Iglesias moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve <br />the resolution, as amended. Resolution No. 2004-684 was adopted by a voice vote of <br />5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10. MOTIONS <br /> <br />lOA. Call for a Motion to accept the resignations and confirmation of the following <br />appointments to the Mayor's Advisory Council (MAC): <br />· Commissioner Iglesias' Appointment to the Health & Welfare Committee: <br />Accept the resignation of Herbert Abramson and confirm the appointment of <br />Alina Sosa-Perez; and <br />· Vice Mayor Goodman's Appointment to the Education/Schools Committee: <br />Accept the resignation of Phillip Chernoff and confirm the appointment of Laura <br />Arzumanova; and <br />· Commissioner Thaler's Appointment to the Health & Welfare Committee: <br />Accept the resignation of Trina Duluc and confirm the appointment of Mitchell <br />Reich. <br /> <br />8 <br />
